From the very beginning, God’s heart toward humanity has always been good. He created man in His own image (Genesis 1:26–27) and breathed into him the breath of life (Genesis 2:7). His desire has always been fellowship, blessing, and peace for His children. Even when man fell into sin, God did not abandon us but made a way of redemption through His Son, Jesus Christ. Scripture declares: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you… thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).
If we are to believe in God’s promises, we must first be sure of His Word. The Bible is not the opinion of men—it is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). It has stood unshaken through generations because it is truth (John 17:17). Unlike human promises that may fail, God’s promises are backed by His very nature. “God is not a man, that he should lie” (Numbers 23:19). What He says, He performs.
Every promise is only as trustworthy as the one who makes it. We can trust God’s promises because of who He is: all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present, faithful, and holy. He cannot lie, deceive, or fail. His promises are not uncertain wishes but guaranteed realities.
This book will explore the depth of God’s promises—both unconditional promises that depend only on Him, and conditional promises that require our obedience and faith. We will also see that these promises belong to God’s children, those who are born again. For the unbeliever, the doorway is John 3:16: the promise of salvation through Christ. From there, every other promise in Scripture becomes theirs to claim.
Beloved, God is faithful. His intentions are good, His Word is true, and His promises are sure. As you walk through these chapters, may your faith grow stronger and your heart take hold of what belongs to you in Christ.
