When you make Jesus your Lord, you are not merely saying a prayer or joining a religion; you are entering into a covenant relationship with the living God. You are acknowledging Him as the ruler and master of your life. The Apostle Paul declared in Philippians 3:8, “Indeed, I count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord.” That means that every other gain in life becomes insignificant compared to the eternal treasure of knowing Him personally.
When you make Him your Savior, you receive the forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and the assurance of eternal life. The Bible says, “For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Only Jesus Christ could pay the price for sin through His blood on the cross, and only through Him can you be declared righteous before God. There is no other way to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
This decision is not only wise because it secures your eternity, but also because it brings peace, joy, and purpose to your life here on earth. When you receive Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you, to lead you, comfort you, teach you, and empower you to live victoriously. Your old nature is crucified with Christ, and you are made new. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The wisdom of this decision is also seen in its eternal security. Every human life will come to an end, but those who are in Christ have the promise of everlasting life. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25). To reject Christ is to reject life itself, but to receive Him is to receive eternal hope that never fades.
So, my good friends, making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior is not only a wise decision—it is the supreme decision. It is the foundation upon which every other decision should rest. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him (Colossians 2:3). When you surrender your life to Him, you gain far more than you could ever lose. You gain peace with God, a new heart, a divine purpose, and a glorious inheritance that cannot fade away.
Therefore, I urge you today: do not delay. Wisdom calls aloud in the streets, saying, “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). Open your heart to Him. Confess Him as your Lord. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you shall be saved. This is the wisest and greatest choice you will ever make in your lifetime—one that echoes throughout eternity.
Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus Christ forever and ever. Amen.
